Kentucky MBA Education :: MBA-business-schools
Bluegrass, bourbon and burgoo: some of Kentucky's most famous exports. Add to those a growing biotech industry and a state economic development agency that is committed to wooing new business to the state, and Kentucky sounds like a state with a lot to offer a prospective MBA student. Seven start-up biotech firms and four major, established players are located in Kentucky. Also, according to the state's economic development board, the finance/insurance and information management sectors grew by over 30% in 2002. These industries both are traditionally common employers of MBA grads.
For those interested in an MBA in international business, Kentucky is working to expand its stake in the international marketplace. Kentucky currently has major export business with Canada and France, and 14.9 billion dollars of the state economy is attributed to revenue from foreign exports. Kentucky also has economic development offices in Japan, China, Chile, Belgium and Mexico.
